STATEMENT | Layers of misted metallic and bright colored paint transform brown paper, making it the infrastructure for cut patterns reflective of microcosms and biological forms. Freehand cuts are slowly made into its surface, until the ordinary paper takes on the innate organic qualities of specimens pressed between glass slides under the lens of a microscope. Fragile, repetitive, and sensitive my works are framed in oversized “microscope slides” allowing for the beauty of art and science to converge.
